During the summer holidays a group of young people participated in the Humberside Police Lifestyle Challenge. They called themselves The Wonderful Westcliff Wallabies.

They decided to raise money for two charities; Scunthorpe Macmillan Cancer Support and The Alternative Animal Sanctuary.

The group went on a trip to visit the animal sanctuary to see where the money raised would be going. They also met with Kirsty, who used to volunteer with the Westcliff Drop-In Centre’s young people’s projects and was about to complete a sponsored sky dive for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The young people organised a family bingo event which was held at the Westcliff Community Centre. This was very successful and raised a total of £85. The group decided £60 of the money raised would go towards The Scunthorpe Macmillan’s Cancer Support Charity and the rest would be donated to the animal sanctuary.

The young people also helped raise £44 for Westcliff Drop-In Centre on their annual fundraising day. The young people completed all their fundraising and handed in their logbook for judging.

After the judging was complete we heard back the fantastic news that the young people had become lifestyle winners and won 1st prize for the Lifestyle Youth Division. They attended the awards evening at Hull City Hall on the 11th November.
